Welcome To Phase 3 Illinois

May 29, 2020 by Kristin Skelton Leave a Comment

To Our Floofins & Co. Family,

Illinois will be entering Phase 3 today! I have personally received emails from all of my favorite restaurants, spas and retail stores gearing up for business. Our team is ready to help you out with your pets if you are heading back to work/the office, making yourself a long awaited dinner reservation or finally taking that trip to Von Maur (a.k.a. my favorite department store).

Rest assured, our common sense staff “cleanliness policies” are still the standard. We are also continuing to ask that you notify us if someone in your home is ill and to cancel services to limit exposure to our team. We will of course do the same and send an alternate if needed. We are also happy to continue offering any customized safety measures you request at this time. We got this!

Looking forward to seeing more fluffy faces on our schedule as Illinois phases forward.

COVID Update – RE: May 30th Shelter In Place Extension

April 28, 2020 by Kristin Skelton Leave a Comment

To Our Floofins & Co. Family,

In light of the latest extension of the IL Shelter-In-Place order, we wanted to reach out as more existing and potentially new clients are being added to the “essential” list that will be allowed to start back up with work in some capacity on May 1st. Yay! Our team looks forward to continuing our existing services and serving more of our clients (and their floofins) as they phase back to work.

With that being said, our standard common sense staff “cleanliness policies” are still being followed and have been enhanced per the latest CDC recommendations and IL State Law, as described below. We are happy to add any specific notes for visits with preferred procedures for social distancing. For example, we can pick up your pet from an area of the home where you are not present or do a leash hand off at the door vs. performing in-home duties at this time. Whatever you need, we are still here for you!

Staff “Cleanliness Policies”:

  • UPDATE: Staff are being asked to wear supplied masks per the May 1st State of IL Mask mandate. Masks will be worn inside clients homes and outside anytime social distancing cannot be followed. Fortunately, social distancing is nothing new at Floofins & Co. Your pets are used to us saying no to dog-to-dog and dog-to-stranger meet and greets.
  • Staff are being asked to use Floofins & Co. provided soap, washing their hands for at least 20 seconds with warm water upon entering and exiting the home, and as needed during visits, as well as using provided hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available.
  • Staff are being asked to avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands, as well as covering their nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing if outside with pets and not wearing a mask. If a tissue isn’t available, coughing or sneezing into an elbow or sleeve versus into their hands.
  • If a staff member is sick, they are being asked to call in so coverage can be arranged with another team member.

We are also continuing to ask that you notify us if someone in your home is ill and to cancel services to limit exposure to our team.

UPDATE: Our cancelation policy is extended to ANY client that is ill through the end of May.

Also please remember:

New Client Consultations On Video

We are now offering video new client consultations. While our preference is to meet in your home so we can thoroughly explain our services, note specific locations of items, and get to introduce ourselves in person to your floofin and can still do this provided masks are being worn by all parties, we understand that this may not be possible in today’s circumstances. Therefore, video consultations are now an option. You will still meet with a member of our administrative team and your primary pet care specialist.

Referral Program Update

We have always offered a $25 service credit to our existing clients that send us referrals that become part of the Floofins Family. However, due to the current circumstances, in March we added an additional $25 credit to the new client as a gesture of thanks and gratitude for all of our new essential workers. However, we just LOVE this referral program update so moving forward ALL clients that refer a new client to Floofins & Co. will receive a $25 credit AND the new client will also receive a $25 credit towards their first service. So make sure you let us know who sent you our way!

We appreciate all of the check-ins and support we have received during this unprecedented event and look forward to things opening up one fluffy face at a time.

Adaptability and New Normals

March 28, 2020 by Kristin Skelton Leave a Comment

Flexibility is a great attribute, but during the Coronavirus pandemic it is a necessity. Floofins & Co. prides ourselves on being adaptable and available to our clients. After a week of digesting everything happening around us, and as we attempt to do our part and remain within the parameters of the Governor’s Shelter-In-Place order, we want to outline some of the changes that we will begin implementing immediately.

New Client Consultations On Video

We are now offering video new client consultations. While our preference is to meet in your home so we can thoroughly explain our services, note specific locations of items, and get to introduce ourselves in person to your floofin, we understand that this may not be possible in today’s circumstances. Therefore, video consultations are now an option. You will still meet with a member of our administrative team and your primary pet care specialist.

Referral Program Bonus For Essential Workers

We have always offered a $25 service credit to our existing clients that send us referrals that become part of the Floofins Family. If you know someone who is an essential worker that needs assistance with pet care services, please refer them. Not only does this help keep our staff working, it also keeps those essential employees able to go to work (and often work extra long hours) without worry about their pets. Due to the current circumstances will be adding an additional $25 credit to the new client and are waiving our 3 month minimum for ongoing schedule pricing as a gesture of thanks and gratitude for their work during this time.

Answering Some Of Your Questions

We know that our staff and your pets form a unique bond during their time together. And many people are wondering what will happen to their pet care specialist as more people are at home and are not using our services. Some of you have asked how you can help.

  • Keep an eye on our social media. We will be communicating quite a bit via social media during this time. Like, comment, and share our social media posts. Hopefully they will be a beacon of positivity in the chaos of the news.
  • Online Reviews. Got a little extra time on your hands due to missing out on your regular commute? Take a few minutes and write a review on your favorite review site… or tag them all! Yelp. Facebook. Nextdoor. Angie’s List or on Google.
  • Gift Certificates. Some clients have asked if they can purchase gift certificates/credits for future services. Or, some have asked if they could purchase a gift certificate and gift services to an essential worker they know that is now experiencing challenges keeping up with their pet while taking on their new workload. We do sell gift certificates! If you are interested in purchasing a gift certificate or gifting someone, please drop us a line at info@floofinsandco.com and we will set you up.
  • Regular Payments and Gratuities. We would never expect clients to pay for a service they are not receiving, however some clients have insisted on paying for their regular services at this time. Others have made a one-time voluntary tip payment, noting which pet care specialist(s) they are gifting, both of which are very generous. Please note these types of payments will go to your pet care specialist on their regular payroll meaning pet care specialists will be paid as if they performed the service for any service payments. 100% of gratuities always go directly to your pet care specialist.

We will keep you abreast of any additional happenings. We miss seeing our floofins and look forward to when we can get back to doing what we do best.

A Follow Up To Our Clients And Community RE: COVID-19 And The IL Shelter In Place Order

March 20, 2020 by Kristin Skelton Leave a Comment

To Our Floofins & Co. Family.

In light of the IL Shelter In Place order, we wanted to send another update as to how this will affect your services with Floofins & Co. Based on what was presented in the latest press conference, pet care visits will still be an allowed service. We simply ask that any client that feels visits are non-essential to feel free to cancel. We hope to see you back on a regular schedule sooner than later.

For clients that are out-of-town or reporting to work in essential jobs, we will continue with visits as scheduled. For continuing visits, our standard common sense staff “cleanliness policies” are being followed as described below, along with additional measures as recommended by the CDC, like social distancing (6 feet or more) if a client is working from home during our visits.  We are also are happy to add any specific notes to visits with preferred procedures for social distancing. For example, we can pick up your pet from an area of the home where you are not present, or do a hand off at the door vs. performing in-home duties at this time, or we can even wipe door knobs and other high touch surfaces if you have wipes handy. Whatever you need, we are here for you.

Staff “Cleanliness Policies”:

  • Staff are being asked to use Floofins & Co. provided hand sanitizer upon entering each clients home as well as washing hands during visits, as needed, and at the end of visits with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Staff are being asked to avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands, as well as covering their nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. If a tissue isn’t available, coughing or sneezing into an elbow or sleeve vs. into their hands.
  • If a staff member is sick, they are being asked to call in so coverage can be arranged with another team member.

We are also continuing to ask that you notify us if someone in your home is ill and to cancel services to limit exposure to our team. Our cancelation policy is extended to ANY client that is ill through the end of April.

To date, we have had no illnesses on our team and no one has been in contact with anyone with a known case of COVID-19. We will reach out directly should any future concerns arise.

We appreciate all of the support we have received during this unprecedented event and truly will miss seeing many of our daily charges during this time. Hopefully this Shelter In Place order will help shorten the time before we will see all of our floofins on a more routine, normal schedule.

An Open Letter To Our Clients And Community RE: COVID-19

March 13, 2020 by Kristin Skelton Leave a Comment

To Our Floofins & Co. Family.

We wanted to reach out with a quick update to hopefully relieve some concerns due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19. Our standard common sense staff “cleanliness policies” are being followed as described below:

  • Staff are being asked to use provided hand sanitizer upon entering each clients home along with washing hands during visits as needed and at the end of visits with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Staff are being asked to avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands as well as covering their nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. If a tissue isn’t available, coughing or sneezing into an elbow or sleeve vs. into their hands is preferred.
  • If a staff member is sick, they are being asked to call in so coverage can be arranged with another team member.

We know that trips may be canceled and that many of our regularly scheduled dog walking clients may be working from home for the next several weeks, however we are maintaining business as usual at this time. Please do reach out should there be any changes in your regular or trip schedules and also please know we are happy to still visit while you are working from home so you can go about your workday as well as maintain consistency in your pet’s routine. Whatever you need, we are here for you.

And finally, we ask that you notify us if someone in your home is ill and to cancel services to limit exposure to our team. Regarding the cancelation policy, while our regularly scheduled clients typically have two anytime/day of cancelations in their account per month, please note we are extending this policy to ANY client that is ill through the end of April for the time being.

To date we have had no illnesses on our team and no one has been in contact with anyone with a known case of COVID-19. We will reach out directly should any future concerns arise.

We appreciate your business and look forward to getting back into a normal groove soon.
