Calling animal lovers in and around Elmhurst, Illinois! The 31st Annual Spring Road & Elmhurst Kiwanis Pet Parade is happening on Saturday, May 18th, 2024. This paw-some annual event is a celebration of our furry (or feathery, or scaly!) friends, and it’s the purrfect way to spend a fun-filled afternoon with loved ones. Prepare to strut your stuff at the 2024 Spring Road & Elmhurst Kiwanis Pet Parade.

2024 Spring Road & Elmhurst Kiwanis Pet Parade: What It Is

Join the parade to walk alongside fellow pet owners and their beloved animal companions. The parade is a delightful way to enjoy springtime while getting much-needed fresh air and exercise. Plus, leashed pets of all types and sizes are welcome. You may even spot some participants in costumes and accessories!

In addition to the parade, there will be plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained, including pet adoptions, a blessing of the pets, and vendors with treats and toys for the whole family. After the parade, there’s a pet trick contest where talented critters can impress the crowd and may even win a prize.

2024 Spring Road & Elmhurst Kiwanis Pet Parade: How to Participate

Register online to secure your spot in the parade. The first 100 registrants are eligible for event goodie bags, so don’t delay. Attendees can purchase delicious food and drinks from cash-only concession stands, therefore make sure you bring cash. All proceeds benefit local animal shelters and raffle tickets will be available for cash purchase.

Please also bring extra poop bags, fresh water for you and your pet(s,) and whatever else you and your family need to be comfortable.

Elmhurst Spring Road Pet Parade: Event Details

• Date: Saturday, May 18th, 2024
• Time: Check-in starts at 11:30 AM, parade steps off at 1:00 PM
• Location: Wild Meadows Trace Park by the Gazebo and Prairie Path on Spring Road
• Participants: There were slots for 200 pets on the registration page and 50+ slots were taken at the time of publication
• Pets: While pets of all types are welcome, we urge you to consider a backpack or other secure carrier for your cats and small animals

2024 Spring Road & Elmhurst Kiwanis Pet Parade: Awards & Donations

You must register your pet for their trick at the registration table on the day of the event. If you don’t do that, your pet will not be able to participate in the pet trick competition. Awards will be given for Best Costume, Most Unique Pet, Best Pet Trick, and other Pet Contests.

Also, the Spring Road Business Association will be collecting donations for local pet rescues and shelters during the Pet Parade. Requested donations include basic leashes, collars, dog treats, cat treats, dog beds, cat litter, food and water bowls, bath towels, blankets, paper towels and cleaning supplies.
