A Tuesday Training Trip From Our Staff Trainer Michele Hatley
Training should be fun – for both you and your dog! It’s one of the perks when using positive reinforcement techniques and it’ll make your dog look forward to working with you.
When I pull out treats, all of my dogs come running because they know that we’re going to do something fun together. A dog that is having a good time working with you will appear happy and relaxed. How does your dog look when you train together?
Having fun together through training is just another way to build a bond with your dog. Keep it exciting by changing up what treats are used, incorporating the use of toys, and working in different locations. Remember to pay attention to your dog’s body language and make sure the training session is kept positive for them; that way they’ll want to come back and work with you again!
