Pet Insurance. What Are The Benefits?

While pet insurance is talked about more than ever these days, the idea only came into being as recently as the 1980’s. Now, 30 years later there are over 10 pet insurance groups currently offering policies for pets across our service area from Oak Park to Carol Stream and from La Grange to Bolingbrook. So, what has caused the surge in popularity and do you need a policy for your pet?

Advancements in technology, medicine, and treatment options in the veterinary field have expanded which equates to higher out-of-pocket expenses, making pet insurance more popular. As professional pet sitters, we know pet parents will do anything possible to make sure that their furry family members are happy and healthy. However, hard decisions regarding our pets health become even more difficult when money stands in the way. Some pets require a few more trips to the vet each year than others. Michele Hatley Bio Photo Floofins & Co., a pet sitting and dog walking company serving Elmhurst, La Grange, Downers Grove, Woodridge, Bolingbrook, Naperville, Hinsdale and surrounding Chicago suburbs, features Michele Hatley of our team of professional pet care professionals.

Animals have been a constant in Michele’s life. Over the years, her love for dogs developed into a passion for training after she was first introduced to obedience and agility when she was 13. Her enthusiasm and enjoyment for dogs and other animals led Michele to work at several boarding facilities and pet related businesses.

In her spare time, Michele volunteers in the Marine Mammals Department at Shedd Aquarium and competes in AKC agility trials with her dogs Patch, Gino and Buffy. Michele holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Indiana State University and is also taking courses through Western Illinois University to receive a certificate in Zoo and Aquarium Studies.
