On October 9th, pet owners and veterinarians alike can participate in the activities of the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention (APOP). APOP, according to their website, is “committed to making the lives of dogs, cats, all other animals and people healthier and more vital”.
The APOP was created in 2005 by Dr. Ernie Ward. Dr. Ward promotes healthy weight loss between both pets and their human counterparts.
APOP is compromised of members of the veterinary healthcare community. Members are committed to fight pet obesity through media campaigns and within the medical, educational, and other related organizations.
Take advantage of their tools and explore articles at their website: https://petobesityprevention.org. Tools include everything from pet weight checks, caloric intakes, and weight loss. Data from their annual surveys, of which you can take part, are included on the website.
So, keep your pet and yourself healthy this October 9th! Keep that momentum going in the days that follow. Find out how to do more using APOP’s data. We want you and your floofins to have long healthy lives.
