Always Focus on Succeeding When Setting Up Your Dog Training Lessons
When handling or working with our pets, we should be conscious of setting them up for success. We want to be able to control the environment as best we can in order to help our pets succeed.
When training a new behavior this could mean training in a familiar space with a few distractions or training something in small steps. Especially when working on something new, we don’t want to set our pets up to fail or a situation that is beyond their skill level at the time. Remember, training should be fun for you and for your dog, so setting them up to be frustrated defeats that purpose.
Setting your pet up to succeed will help keep it positive and a game that they want to continue participating in with you.
