Thanksgiving

Update on Holiday Scheduling and the Floofins Waitlist

November 19, 2021 by Jennifer Houghton Leave a Comment

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to let our clients know about the status of holiday scheduling and our first ever Floofins & Co. waitlist.

EARLY BOOKING

While we have always stressed booking visits as early as possible, this holiday season presents additional challenges. We highly encourage our clients to book your holiday trips in the system as soon as possible. Why?

Our commitment to the highest level of service.

Like all industries, demand and staffing are in flux. Particularly at high volume times, like the holidays, we encourage early booking to meet pet care needs. We never overbook because that negatively impacts our clients.

We have seen a drastic increase in the volume of pet care requests. This likely results from many factors including increased travel from last year, new floofins additions to households, and the unfortunate decrease in pet care providers resulting from COVID’s hit to small businesses everywhere.

WAITLIST

We appreciate your referrals and encourage you to continue to suggest us as an option for your family and friends. As a caution, some new clients, depending on their service location, may be placed on our waitlist.

New clients may temporarily be waitlisted clients until we can provide Floofins & Co. caliber service. We encourage you to establish your pet with us so that we can quickly transition to providing service as soon as possible.

Floofins & CO. appreciates all of our clients, new and established. We promise to continue to give you the service you have come to expect. And for new clients, we will make your pet a member of our Floofins Family as soon as we can.

Thank you and enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday.

Gratitude For Our Clients and Team This Thanksgiving

November 26, 2020 by Jennifer Houghton 1 Comment

This year, collectively and individually, we have all dipped into our own personal reservoirs seeking moments of gratitude. The challenge of navigating changing restrictions were particularly hard hitting from a small business standpoint.

One of the reasons that we are still standing is because of our clients. We want to take a few moments, if you will indulge us, by saying thanks.

For each of you who were able to continue using Floofins & Co.’s services, even if you didn’t absolutely require them, thank you. Your support has allowed us to keep staff in place so that you don’t lose any of your favorite pet care specialists. [Read more…] about Gratitude For Our Clients and Team This Thanksgiving

Giving Thanks For Challenging Pets

November 27, 2019 by Jennifer Houghton Leave a Comment

Despite griping about the weather, the challenges at my day job, and the general obstacles that life throws my way (yeah, I’m talking about you chipped-from-a-rock windshield), I’m extremely fortunate. So, when Thanksgiving rolls around, and we as a country pause to count the blessings of our comfortable lives, I probably name off the same general things everyone else does: family, friends, and the abundances in my life.

But, I gave it some thought and have to admit that I’m not going to do that this year.  This year, I’m giving thanks for the gift of challenging pets.

Everyone who sees my dog, Ginger, tells me how sweet, cute, well-behaved, or any other variety of complimentary adjectives she is. And the pictures of her on social media are along the same ilk. But, you don’t see the moments that try my patience (of which, I will admit, I have very little to being with): [Read more…] about Giving Thanks For Challenging Pets

The National Dog Show

November 20, 2019 by Jennifer Houghton Leave a Comment

As the weather gets a tad bit colder, you might wonder what you can do indoors with your floofin. Why not watch The National Dog Show together? The event takes place on November Saturday, November 16 & Sunday, November 17 in Philadelphia and will be broadcast over Thanksgiving Day.

Presented by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, NBC will air the event. For over 125 years, the Kennel Club of Philadelphia has presented “benched” dog shows, according to their website. Benched, they explain, is a term that means when the dogs are not in competition they must be on an assigned bench. The idea being that folks can interact and learn more about the dogs and breeds at the show. [Read more…] about The National Dog Show

Adopt a Senior Pet Month

November 6, 2019 by Jennifer Houghton Leave a Comment

November is a month that I can really get behind on the pet event calendar. This month marks not only my favorite food holiday, Thanksgiving, but also the kick off of Adopt A Senior Pet Month.

I often tell people that one of my favorite types of dogs are old ones. The golden years: full of naps on the rug in the sun; ambles about the neighborhood; and treats and tummy rubs. Yet, the cuddly cuteness of new kittens or puppies often overtakes us. How could it not?

But as you consider adding to your Floofins Family, don’t forget that some of the last animals to be adopted from shelters are the seniors. Sure, the little ones are squirmy and wiggly and beyond cute. But the soul in the eyes of a dog that has reached an age of wisdom comes with some great benefits.
