Floofins & Co.

Sure, you know that the Floofins staff you interact with LOVE your pet, but have you ever wondered… Is there more to this super-duper, pet-loving person?

To that, we say, YES!

Your Floofins are like family and we want to give you a more rounded picture of our great staff members. So, we dug a little deeper into their psyches to get you the kind of information only Floofins & Co. can provide.

The staff member we are highlighting this month is Mary. She is a Pet Care Specialist and covers the Lombard, Glen Ellyn, Villa Park, Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, and Elmhurst (for vacation care) areas.

If you could ask your pet one question, what would it be? “ I have 3 dogs and I always ask them, “Can’t you all go outside at the same time just once? Basically, I’m a doorman a lot!”

What is the funniest thing you’ve seen a stranger do? “Someone was jumping on a trampoline and when they jumped up, their shorts fell down.”

What is your pet peeve? “Being late.”

What is the best advice you’ve received? “Be polite.”

What would be your spirit animal? “Bear.”

What is the funniest thing you’ve seen a stranger do? “The funniest thing I’ve seen a stranger do was when these two people were walking in the revolving doors and one of them pulled it to a stop so the other person ran into the glass.”

What was your favorite toy growing up? “My favorite toy growing up would be this big scruffy dog with one ear that I named Ralph.”

What is the best advice you’ve received? “The best advice I’ve received would be When you notice something nice about someone, even a stranger, say it to them because they might be having an awful day and your complement might make a difference for them.”

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?  “As a child I wanted to be a zoologist or own a rescue.”

What would be your spirit animal? “My spirit animal would be an Arctic Fox (they are beautiful and I love the cold).”

Group or Private Dog Walking

Group Dog Walking Or Individual Dog Walking… Which Walk Style Works For Your Pet?

If you’re utilizing a dog walking service, should you choose a group walking style or go with the company that offers individual walks? There are many different dog walking services throughout the Chicago Suburbs from Elmhurst to La Grange to Lombard to Naperville, and each has their own philosophy and requirements when it comes to their service options.

When choosing a dog walking service, there are several important things to consider, one of which is whether to select a service that provides group walking (sometimes known as herd walking) or individual walks. Different businesses offer different options, including small group walks, as well as individual and large group. Large group walks seem far more prevalent in urban areas, and some folks argue that these style of walks are beneficial to dogs, who are social by nature. Vehicle Safety for Pets in Elmhurst and Lombard, IL

Vehicle Safety Tips For Pets and Pet Parents

Chihuahua PuppyLiving in places like Elmhurst, and Lombard IL, driving is a necessity, and bringing your dog or cat along on car rides can be a very pleasant experience. There are things to keep in mind when driving with your pup, so we’re going to highlight some basic vehicle safety tips below.
  • Don’t let your dog stick their head out car windows; tiny stones, sticks or pieces of trash that get kicked up by other cars can hit them in the head or get in their eyes. Some dogs may even try to jump out of a car window if they can!
  • More and more, it is recommended to provide restraints for your dog while riding with you in the car. This way if you’re in a car accident, or even a near-accident, the dog won’t be slammed into the back of the seat or even over it and into the windshield.
