Chicagoland pets are becoming more than the mutt living in the backyard dog house: they are family.

Floofins and Co., a new Elmhurst based in-home pet care services company, is poised to help promote a fresh concept in the world of pet care, the in-home pet sitter.

After watching her two Maltese pups Priscilla and Portia (Prissy and Poopsie) on webcam hiding behind water bowls at various doggy daycares and posh dog hotels, Floofins & Co. founder, Kristin Skelton, decided there had to be a better way to keep her girls safe and happy while she was away from home. While some dogs thrive with doggy daycare and group play, her’s did not.

After looking into other ways to care for her pets, Kristin found a concept that is slowly gaining popularity in the Midwest, the pet sitter. Wanting to open her own company for years, she found her new calling, something she could be passionate about: providing an additional care option for Chicagoland pet parents. An animal lover, pet owner and shelter volunteer addicted to animal care and socialization, Kristin left her 9-5 marketing position to follow her passion for pets.

Floofins & Co.’s services are set up with great care. Over a year of research, training and certification has ended with the launch of this new company. Kristin strives to create an honest, and dependable group of animal lovers providing a Chicagoland “Kenneling Alternative”.

Floofins & Co. is currently offering pet sitting, dog walking and potty break services. They hope to add dog staging services (taking a dog out for playtime during a real estate showing or open house) and eventually in-home grooming and training services in the next year.
