As we approach the holiday season of 2024, Floofins & Co. is once again gearing up for our heartwarming Presents 4 Pets Campaign. The Presents 4 Pets Campaign is not just a local effort; it’s part of a larger, nationwide program initiated by the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS). To truly appreciate the significance of this campaign, we’ll first delve into the history of NAPPS and its groundbreaking Present 4 Pets program. Then, I’ll share some details about Floofins & Co.’s 2024 Presents 4 Pets Campaign and this year’s recipient, Hinsdale Humane Society.

The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters

Founded in 1989, NAPPS has been at the forefront of promoting excellence in the pet-sitting industry. A non-profit organization, NAPPS has played a crucial role in establishing professional standards, providing educational resources, and fostering a sense of community among pet care professionals across the United States.

One of NAPPS’ most impactful initiatives has been the Present 4 Pets program. Launched in the early 2000s, this program was designed to address the growing needs of animal shelters and rescue organizations. The concept was simple yet powerful: encourage pet sitters and animal lovers to donate supplies, food, and toys to local shelters during the holiday season.

Recognizing the immense potential of this program, Floofins & Co. enthusiastically embraced the Present 4 Pets initiative from the start of our business, tailoring it to our local community’s needs.

This year’s campaign promises to be bigger and better than ever. We have set ambitious goals, aiming to surpass previous years’ donations and reach even more animals in need. The campaign focuses on collecting essential items such as:

You can also join us for our closing event on Saturday, November 23rd from 10 am to 2 pm at the Pet Supplies Plus in Westmont, IL. There, you can help us “Stuff the Subaru” with supplies for the shelter.

Impact and Future Goals

Planned to coincide with the Humane Society of the United States’ National Shelter Appreciation Week, which takes place annually in early November, the impact of the Presents 4 Pets Campaign extends far beyond a few week period. By providing essential supplies and support to local shelters, the campaign helps these organizations stretch their resources further throughout the year, helping their budgets go further. This means more animals can receive proper care, increasing their chances of finding forever homes.

Hinsdale Humane Society

We chose Hinsdale Humane Society as this year’s recipient because we believe that they are an exemplary shelter and animal welfare organization. They sponsor various programs, including pet therapy and educational programs for children, to improve the lives of people and pets in the Chicago area. They have a long history of helping animals in need and rallying volunteers for the benefit of the pets in their care.

Per their website, “Hinsdale Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization operating the Tuthill Family Pet Rescue & Resource Center, providing innovative care and adoption services for all animals, including those that are harder to place. We educate, advocate, and adopt out pets, acting as a voice for animals who depend on people for their care. We nurture the human-animal bond through community outreach and progressive programming, to help ensure the compassionate treatment of all animals.”

Floofins & Co. Gives Back

Presents 4 Pets is rooted in compassion and community spirit and has become a beacon of hope for countless shelters and rescue organizations across the nation. This campaign is more than just about presents; it’s about giving hope, comfort, and love to animals who need it most. By participating in the Presents 4 Pets Campaign, we can all play a part in making their lives a little brighter, one gift at a time.

In addition to our Presents 4 Pets Campaign, we also give back through our Roofs for Floofs program. If you are a pet parents that has adopted a pet, we will make a $30 donation to your participating shelter or rescue group when you book any in-home pet care service with Floofins & Co.
