September is Happy Cat Month, and as the Founder of Floofins & Co., I can’t think of a better time to talk about how we support our feline clients. Cats hold a very special place in my heart, and I know many cat parents feel the same. They’re independent yet deeply attached to their environment, their routines, and the people they trust most. That’s why when it comes to care, cats often need something a little different than traditional boarding or kenneling. That’s why our kenneling alternative keeps cats purring!
Cats Thrive on Routine
If you share your home with a cat, you’ve probably noticed how much consistency matters to them. They know when the food hits the bowl. They expect their favorite sunny spot to be free between 12 to 2 p.m. for napping. Even the sound of the front door at a familiar time each evening is comforting. When that routine is disrupted, stress often sets in.
Traditional boarding facilities can be overwhelming for cats because they take them away from everything that feels familiar: home smells, favorite sleeping spots, and predictable daily rhythms. Even the most luxurious and well-run kennels often mean cage time, unfamiliar sights and sounds, and exposure to other animals, including barking – yikes! For a creature that thrives on control of their little kingdom and sees him or herself as both prey and predator, this can feel like chaos and danger all rolled into one.
Cats Thrive at Home
The greatest gift we offer our feline friends is the ability to stay right where they’re happiest: at home.
Our sitters stop in for visits tailored to each cat’s routine. That might mean morning and/or evening feeding, fresh water, litter box care, playtime, or simple, quiet companionship. Because cats aren’t as “low-maintenance” as many think they are. I can assure you, cats notice when you’re gone, and they need that reassurance that someone safe and trustworthy is still looking out for them.
Cats Thrive in Safety and Stress-Free Care
One of the things I love most about our in-home care model is how it supports not just happiness, but safety. Leaving cats at home means less risk of exposure to illnesses or parasites from other animals. It also cuts down on the kind of anxiety-related behaviors many cats display in kennels, such as over-grooming, hiding, or refusal to eat.
Our team is trained to recognize subtle signs of stress or illness and to respond appropriately. Whether it’s monitoring medication schedules or just noting if Fluffy didn’t finish dinner, our goal is to be the eyes and hands you’d want if you could be there yourself.
Why Our Kenneling Alternative Keeps Cats Purring
Happy Cat Month is all about promoting feline wellness and joy, and to me, nothing says “happy” quite like a cat contentedly curled up in their favorite spot, confident that their world is exactly as it should be. That’s what Floofins & Co. strives to provide every single day. We give cats a safe, loving, and familiar alternative to kenneling. By providing a safe, loving alternative to kenneling, we make all the difference in the lives of cats and the humans that love them!
