Gratitude For Our Clients and Team This Thanksgiving

This year, collectively and individually, we have all dipped into our own personal reservoirs seeking moments of gratitude. The challenge of navigating changing restrictions were particularly hard hitting from a small business standpoint.

One of the reasons that we are still standing is because of our clients. We want to take a few moments, if you will indulge us, by saying thanks.

For each of you who were able to continue using Floofins & Co.’s services, even if you didn’t absolutely require them, thank you. Sure, you know that the Floofins staff you interact with LOVE your pet, but have you ever wondered… Is there more to this super-duper, pet-loving person?

To that, we say, YES!

Your Floofins are like family and we want to give you a more rounded picture of our great staff members. So, we dug a little deeper into their psyches to get you the kind of information only Floofins & Co. can provide.

The staff member we are highlighting this month is Jennifer. She is a Pet Care Specialist and covers the Lombard area.

 

What is the funniest thing you’ve seen a stranger do? “The funniest thing I’ve seen a stranger do was when these two people were walking in the revolving doors and one of them pulled it to a stop so the other person ran into the glass.”

What was your favorite toy growing up? “My favorite toy growing up would be this big scruffy dog with one ear that I named Ralph.”

What is the best advice you’ve received? “The best advice I’ve received would be When you notice something nice about someone, even a stranger, say it to them because they might be having an awful day and your complement might make a difference for them.”

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?  “As a child I wanted to be a zoologist or own a rescue.”

What would be your spirit animal? “My spirit animal would be an Arctic Fox (they are beautiful and I love the cold).”

What is the funniest thing you’ve seen a stranger do? “Probably watching people play Marco polo in stores to find each other. It happens more than you think.”

What is your favorite cheesiest pickup line? “Hey can you hold this? (Then just offers their hand.)”

What is the most beautiful place you’ve been? “St. Croix, the beaches were amazing and the water was hard to leave.”

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? “I wanted to be an author because I constantly had a book in my hands.”

What would be your spirit animal? “I honestly think a raccoon. They may get a bad reputation but they are generous protectors and represent resourcefulness, curiosity, and fearlessness.” 

Looking Ahead to 2021, And Your Floofins All Year

We want to see your Floofins all year long! If you’ve been a client of Floofins & Co. for a while, you may be familiar with the annual calendar. We like trying new formats and decided to give our clients an opportunity to participate in the creation of the 2021 calendar.

The Rules

Here’s how it will work:

  • Photos must be of Floofins & Co. clients
  • Photos must be posted to our Facebook page
  • The individual photos with the most votes/likes will be selected

How It Works

What does that mean? Well, over the next several days, you will see a Facebook post with the 2020 pet for each month of the year. Your job is to scroll through the thousands and thousands of pet photos on your phone or tablet or laptop and locate one that best fits that particular month. For example, October had a picture of a pet in their Halloween costume. January had a New Year celebration going on with a dog in glasses. Whatever you think represents that month and showcases your floofin…. drop the photo on that post.

From there, the votes/likes will be noted and the winner will be the one with the most likes. Tell your friends and family to vote! We are so excited to be able to let the Floofins Family make their own calendar.

One side note: We will have to go to print in November, so there will be a time limit on the voting and submissions. So, get out there and, as they say in Chicago, vote early and vote often.

When can you post your pictures? Keep an eye out on Facebook. As soon as you see the month uploaded, you can submit your picture. Voting begins as soon as photos are added.

We hope you enjoy this adventure and the opportunity to make your floofin famous. Well, at least among the Floofins & Co. family. Now, start scrolling through those pictures!

For More Floofins, Catch Floofins FM

What do you do when a global pandemic ruins all the celebratory plans you had for your 10-year anniversary? You start brainstorming the ideas that were percolating in the back of your brain and try to bring them to fruition. Thus, we introduce to you Floofins FM.

The concept is pretty simple, but it is in the prototype stage. We want to bring you informal, but helpful, information about topics that impact your floofins and you. We want to have an interactive platform where you can engage with us.

So, we made our first foray into the arena with a live Facebook event Monday. We focused on 10 questions for 10 years and we talked about the things that we’ve been asked about and what might give you some insight into a small business like Floofins & Co.

We have questions, though. We are looking for some feedback from our Floofins family and friends (yes! We will get the logo turned around next time 🙂 ).

First, what time of day works best? What day of the week allows you to watch live? What topics do you have questions about? What length of time would you prefer? We don’t want to run too long or too short. If the show were available as a podcast, would you have interest in it via that format?
